BETH BOWLEY

From a young age, (or as Beth puts it, “ since my mom dared to give me sharp utensils”) Beth has been nurturing her creative side. Her foray into fashion began by making stuffed animals complete with their own wardrobes and working her way up to more complicated pieces. By the time she reached sixth grade she had created the first of many “must have” Beth Bowley items- a lime green color blocked baby doll top that she radically paired with a red turtleneck. Needless to say she was her rural-Maine elementary school’s first and only fashionista.

After looking into the esteemed Parsons School of Design, she hightailed it to NYC and proved her talent and dedication to everyone by winning a scholarship and graduating from the prestigious academy with honors. Beth went on to work for famed designer Perry Ellis, gaining the invaluable fashion experience that ultimately led to the opening of her own Design Services company.

Though her company was thriving, the part of Beth who dreamt her own designs as a child was still not satisfied. In the spring of 1998 Beth made the leap of faith she was destined for and launched the instantly successful Beth Bowley collection. Within a year’s time, her line was hanging in some of the country’s top retailers including Henri Bendel, Barney’s and Fred Segal and appearing in the pages of fashion bibles such as Elle and In Style. The small town girl who took on the high-flying world of fashion was officially soaring!

Beth Bowley’s creative talents extend beyond the realm of fashion and into interior design. Her loft apartment in Soho reflects the signature spare and chic style aesthetic found in her design studio/showroom in Midtown Manhattan. Bowley favors vintage finds, eclectic flavor and bold splashes of color and each “space” she occupies complements its counterparts for a seamless, Zen-like living and working experience.
